The club would like to say a big 'FANk you' to all the supporters who have cheered on the team so far this season. The sixth man effect of the crowd is a significant one in helping the team to victory.
The club is now settled in to it's new home of Olympia Arena within the impressive surroundings of Teesside University. We also have many more plans on the horizon to enhance the game day and fan experience.
Recently converted to basketball, Dan Wesson, who brings his family to support the Lions is now a firm fan and spoke highly of the event after Teesside beat Manchester, stating:
"Can I just say; only our second home match tonight, but what great nights they have been.
It's great entertainment win or loose and every kid leaves with a smile on his face and every adult leaves with no nails on there fingers from the nerves at tight matches.
Well done to the team and all that contribute you've got us hooked."
For the first six games the club has absorbed the booking fee from ticket agents Eventbrite, saving fans around £1 per ticket. While this could not continue indefinitely, especially with rising costs of each event and the club in general, club chief James Thomson is keen to ensure that the fans continue to enjoy a top class product at an affordable price.
"We have always aimed to provide a ticket price that is fair and will continue to do so. Costs have gone up significantly in the last 16 months, but as a club we have tried to absorb as much of this as possible. Key sponsors such as CIPHER Medical, JSC Electrics, Ryze and ITPS have been instrumental with their support and I am very grateful.
"Importantly the feedback we receive is that the entertainment is excellent value for money. people enjoy Teesside Lions basketball events and long may this continue." said James.
Moving forward, tickets will be subject to the booking fee of around £1 per ticket, but the club want to again reward the fans ahead of the next game with a 20% discount code which is LIONS20
The club are appealing for all fans and newcomers to attend the next game on Saturday 30th November, and hope for a sell-out crowd to give the team the edge when the current league leaders Bristol Flyers II arrive.
Please also bring your Lions scarves and help us create a 'sea of scarves.' These are available to buy on Game Day for just £7.
We advise early purchase of tickets, especially using the discount code as early forecasts suggest a season high attendance.
