Membership

We welcome children from the age of 5+ to our community basketball sessions and have many boys & girls of various abilities.

Our job is to develop players and we are happy for players who are less confident and able to get involved. Generally it takes us about 6 months to develop a player although they will see noticeable improvements in weeks.

Players can compete in our in house CVL every fortnight on a Friday. Players are placed into Mini, Junior or Senior teams and play league games against each other in the very popular Tribal League.

There are also opportunities to progress into the Lions regional & national league teams.

All players must be registered on an annual basis via the governing body Basketball England. This is an insurance & safe-guarding regulation.

  1. Visit www.basketballengland.co.uk & click register.
  2. Add relevant local or National League License
  3. Upload passport style photo
  4. Upload copy of birth certificate or passport
  5. Join Teesside Lions Club (CA3073)

The license fee is payable to Basketball England and the remaining amount to Teesside Lions.

There is also an annual Lions membership fee starting from just £25 for casual training and Tribal League junior players.

The Tribal League

The Tribal League is our own league -- it's great fun and involves a Mini League, a Junior League for Senior League. The Tribal League is very popular with both players and parents who can enjoy watching the games.

All players are encouraged to participate in the Game Time Tribal League and this, for many, will be the first experience of competitive games. We track the stats so that players can follow progress and challenge themselves to improve.
